Well it may be the beginning of March but I’ve been looking back over some of last years weddings. I have been given some images this week from photographers of last years brides so I thought I’d share some. There may be something to inspire you brides of 2011.
August 2010 saw the wedding of my lovely friend Fran to Joe Bradford back in Yorkshire, England. I was more than happy to provide my services for their wedding but as a guest myself there could be no working through the night. This was a seriously big wedding of over 200 guests so the troops were called in - in the form of friends, aunts and basically anyone who stood still for too long!
Fran knew from the start she was having a red bouquet as her mother had done. She was also positive she was having her favourite flowers – carnations. Hmmm – I was yet to be convinced. The result was actually stunning as they added another texture along side the roses. I stand corrected! I then ate humble pie when this years magazines heralded the come back of the carnation!
Mother and Daughter – aah….
Mr & Mrs Bradford…
The bridesmaids – simple ‘Avalanche’ rose hand-tieds
The bridesmaids wore navy gowns, very elegant.
The flower girls carried fairy wands decorated with flowers
Next, it was off to the marquee reception. The theme for the wedding was The Beatles as it’s the couples favourite band. This theme ran from the very first invitation sent out – right through to the favours given and the music during the night!
The brief for the decor was rustic/ shabby chic/ country style. I used lots of red flowers and metres and metres of my own handmade bunting! I loved working on this wedding. I was given a good idea of what Fran hoped for and hopefully I delivered that with little touches such as the small sign tucked behind the top table arrangement, a table plan arranged on more of my homemade bunting. I even decorated the place cards with ribbon and chunky wooden buttons. The tables all had the names of Beatles songs which were displayed on the iconic drum logo. My favourite part was the display behind the top table which had a rustic wooden heart beneath bunting onto which I had sewn Mr & Mrs Bradford. Enjoy…
This was such an amazing day which this truly fab couple deserved. May you have a wonderfully happy life together with baby Bradford who is due in June x
